There is no law about private investigations in Azerbaijan. However, private investigations or detective activity is not  prohibited by Azerbaijan law either. Although  there is no legislation on this, The Constitution of

 

Azerbaijan Republic entitles its citizens the right to seek, get and pass information in the country. There are certain laws in Azerbaijan that give additional rights to media representatives to seek, get and pass any kind of information. Caucasus Consulting & Investigations is using these rights in conducting wide-scale investigations with the support of Caucasus Media Investigations Center.

Every Person shall have the right to legally seek, get, pass, prepare and spread information.

Article 2. Freedom of Access to Information

2.1. Access to information in the Azerbaijan Republic is free.
2.2. Any person is entitled to apply directly or via his (her) representative to the information owner and to choose the type and form for obtaining the information.

To ensure the legality of obtaining information we are working based on
The Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic, The Law of  The Republic of Azerbaijan on Right to Obtain Information, The Law of  The Republic of Azerbaijan on Mass Media (Article 8.), Code of Administrative Torts of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  (Article 186), Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic (Article 163) and other relevant laws.
